About

If you’ve landed here, hopefully you found me through my writing. Whether you read one of my stories or played one of my games, I assume you’re here for more of the Tuskmor Experience™. That’s what I aim to give you on this site.

Below, you can learn more about me and find links to some of my work. I’ll keep everything up to date as new stories get picked up and older ones slip out of print.

I’ll also be blogging and putting out a newsletter. What can you expect from those musings? Updates on my writing, examinations of the choices I’ve made in my own stories, craft advice I didn’t immediately throw in the garbage, a running log of what I’m watching, reading, listening to, and playing, and, of course, random journal-like entries about whatever happens to interest me.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re in the right place. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing to be here.

About Me

D.J. Tuskmor writes horror, crime, and dark speculative fiction, often where those genres overlap. His fiction has appeared with Cursed Morsels Press, Weird Lit Magazine, 7th-Circle Pyrite, Shotgun Honey, and elsewhere. While writing is not his day job, he has continued to work at the craft, earning certifications in Teaching Writing from Johns Hopkins University, Writing for Video Games from the University of British Columbia, and Modern Screenwriting from NYU. He has also sought out workshops and programs such as the Horror Writers Association mentorship program. Outside of fiction, D.J. works in narrative design, including a solo journaling RPG and other projects for indie game companies. His work in cybersecurity has given him a healthy distrust of the obvious answer, an instinct that follows him into his fiction. He lives on the Southcoast of Massachusetts with his wife, two daughters, and too many pets.
